In addition to his studio practice, Genovese is an educator and frequent collaborator with communities, artists, and journalists. This process is referred to as “Field Work”, and functions as the drawings for the foundation of new work. His methods include: performance, participation, and research and result in experiences that generate subject matter to mine from. The projects have included a national call and response crowd sourcing archive that documented the voices and handwriting of communities throughout the U.S., collaborative installations and interventions, education and community outreach programming in overlooked communities throughout Chicago, Los Angeles and Miami-Dade Counties.
